about

Update 2020-03-11: Due to many questions received - the images visible in the cover have nothing to do with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. They are instead illustration of the radiolaria - the oceanic zooplanton organisms - taken from a 1887 scientific manuscript. The cover itself was designed in 2017, long before the 2019 virus outbreak.

The second album of the France-based, one-man electronic project Divine Electronics (aka W. Aniszewski) ventures into the realm of beatless, calm and soundtrack-ish ambient. While DVE's arsenal remains mostly electronic - with hardware and virtual synths, samples and field recordings at the helm - this time they are often accompanied by guitar and piano. On Endomorphine - the grandiose structures of the past, such as "Megale Syntaksis" from the previous album Selected Electronic Works 2002-06 - give way to the more focused and minimalistic, best embodied by the opener, "Mafia Submarine". All compositions, except the synth-based "Endosynthesis" and "Hotel Eternity" -- carry the acoustic traits and are further contextualized by the hefty dose of field samples (e.g "Fomalhaut"). This way the music, while sequenced and programed, leaves the IDM/techno realm and becomes a soundtrack to a yet unmade movie...
